About Us

Thank you for your interest in the Golden Oldies Classic Chevy Club. Our family oriented club was formed in 1980 as a charter club for Classic Chevy International and for our love of the 1955, 1956, & 1957 Chevy. As the club evolved so have our interests to the well rounded, still family oriented club that it is today. We were also charter members of the Bow Tie Chevy organization.

We support all of our members' works in progress with knowledge & emotional support because each of us have been there when that new car rolls out of the restoration garage. Ongoing knowledge and education thru networking & sharing of ideas at our monthly meetings and Summer Cruise nights helps strengthen our club members as well as our presence in the Greater Kansas City area.

Ron & Paula Strickland not only started the club as Membership Number ONE but continue to be active no matter where his job relocates his family. Our membership mostly comes from the Kansas City area but we have members as far north as Minnesota & Wisconsin  and to the south in Oklahoma. Our membership consist of 2 & 3 generations and continues to grow.

This club continues to support many charitable organization by raising funds and actual hands on involvement. We are firm believers that we need to help out our community. We support St Jude's Childrens Hospital, Bikes & Trikes for Tykes, Toys for Tots, Christmas Family programs, Crosslines and a Jackson Co. based Food Kitchen.

We are supportive of your familiy commitment and allow you the flexibility to be as involved as you like. We encourage anyone that would like to become a part of our club to visit with us at one of our meetings or stop by our Summer Cruise Nights. We do not require ownership of a Chevy or any car for that matter, just an admiration of the workmanship you will find in our club cars and those cars we become involved with through car shows & cruise nights.
